Embed Twitter feed in WordPress

Via Twitter you can Embed different feeds into your WordPress page. Obviously your personal feed with your tweets, with optional answers and pictures.

But also tweets favored by you, specially created lists or a search (eg to # wordpress) can be integrated. Embed Twitter feeds helps to showcase user-generated Twitter content for your brand and present it as a constant reminder of your authenticity and credibility as a brand, thereby, social proof being displayed.

Create a Twitter widget

First, log in to your Twitter profile and navigate to Settings> Widgets. If you have already created widgets, they will be listed here. With us the list is still empty. Self-explanatory: Click on "Create new" to open the dialog to create a new widget.


Use the tabs to select the type of tweets that will be displayed in the widget. Since we want to incorporate our own "Timeline", so our own tweets, we remain on the first tab.


The customization options are manageable: You have the choice between a light and a dark theme. After all, you can customize the color of the links via HEX code. As nice as the preview function is, the embedded feed will look different on your page, because the preview is not based on the preset length (600px).


Insert Twitter widget code in WordPress

After clicking on "Create widget" Twitter creates the necessary code, which you simply copy and paste to the desired location of your WordPress page. We chose the sidebar and put it in a text element.


In retrospect, you can adjust the height of the widget in the Twitter settings until you like the presentation on your page. Alternatively, you can customize the widget in WordPress, for example, by inserting these code snippets between your ID and the>:
